Museum
We buried it in the ground
and forgot it for a thousand years
and killed everyone who remembered
and mocked the grandmas and aunties who knew
fancy men offered coins for VHS interviews right before it was lost
and they called it myth.
And when we finally dug it up,
we drove it 10,000 miles,
and added plaques in other languages
full of fun and lies.
It’s sitting there but no one knows how to use it.
Like liquid medicine with no injection needles,
the proper application is gone, long gone.
If we crack the bones and suck out the marrow,
We may yet survive.
